Suspicious Violent or Criminal Behavior
Call 911
It is everyone’s responsibility to assist in providing a safe environment by reporting suspicious, violent or criminal behavior to University Police at 911.
If you are a victim, observe a criminal act or observe a suspicious person on campus, immediately notify University Police at 911, include the following when possible:
- Your name.
- Nature of the incident.
- Location, date and time of incident.
- Description of person(s) involved.
- Description of property involved.
- Assist the officers when they arrive. Provide additional information upon request.
What to do if you are a victim of a property crime:
- Go to a safe place and notify University Police.
- Do not touch anything.
- Meet with the officer at the location the officer requests.
- Follow officer’s instructions.
What to do if you are a victim of a violent/personal crime:
- Be observant.
- Your safety is the most important thing to keep in mind during any attack.
- Get to a safe place.
- Notify University Police at 911, attempt to provide the following:
- Type of incident.
- Location of incident.
- Whether you or anyone else needs medical assistance.
- Description of person(s) involved.
- Meet with the officer. Follow the officer's instructions.
